Ghost Hunters S06E08

Episode 08 - Inn Of The Dead (21/04/2010)

The Orleans Inn in Cape Cod, Mass., was once a getaway spot for gangsters and bootleggers (and a house of ill repute) during the roaring twenties. The problem is, some of them never left!

The claims are interesting: ghosts of naked women, candles lighting on their own, glasses sliding off tables, hauntings by two separate men who hanged themselves and doors opening and closing. The freakiest claim is of Room 5, where two separate guests have checked in and then been driven to the point of insanity inside the room. That's weird.

Some of the claims can easily be debunked, but the mental illness and apparitions are intriguing. The good news is Britt and Joe Chin are able to pitch in on this investigation. Jason and Grant hit Room 5, trying to figure out what would drive 2 people to madness. It feels like a grandmother's house … until a faint woman's scream comes the closet area.

In the basement, Britt and Joe check out the scene of Paul the kitchen worker's suicide with a full spectrum camera. The ghost was quiet, but there was a shadow passing back and forth in front of a window- but when they got closer it stopped.

Kris and Amy speak out to the spirit of Hannah in room 4. They hear a rustling sound from the guest bathroom. It's the curtain moving! So they do the flashlight test, asking Hannah a question and BOOM! Right away the light goes on. Can she turn it off? It goes off. A full-on conversation ensues- and Hannah reveals she was hurt by a customer, she's not the only ghost in the inn, and there is someone moving upstairs as they speak! Kris and Amy run upstairs but there's no one there! What the hell is going on in this place??

Joe and Britt head to the tavern to debunk the moving glass claim, but they can't. Are they ready to call it paranormal? No. So they move on to room 5, where they confirm there are no abnormal EMF readings. An EVP session ensues, and they hear a bang in the bathroom but didn't get much of a response to any questions. While Steve and Tango are checking out the basement the heating unit kicks on, throwing some high EMF at them. This could easily make someone get that eerie feeling. Paul isn't talking, and it seems that people reporting claims could simply be affected by EMFs and the history rather than reality.

Now it's show time in the lobby. Grant and Jason say goodnight to Paul, hoping he'll respond and they wait for the dancing naked lady to appear. Grant sees a shadow rush behind the cameraman- it passed 3 times and there was no way it was headlights from a car! So they head to the dining room and hear a mumbling sound. Like a guy is trying to talk to them!

At the reveal, the owner, Ryan Mass, reveals that the walls in room 5 were soundproofed, so that scream Jason and Grant heard was probably louder than they realized! Then new evidence comes forward that Steve and Tango were not alone in their investigation of the cupola. A voice was caught saying either "let me out" or "get me down" (that would make sense given someone hanged himself up there). Ryan seems shocked upon seeing the flashlight conversation! Don't forget, Grant assures him, these spirits are just people. There's nothing to fear.

Episode 07 - Big Hair Day (21/04/2010)

The girls received a surprise visit from model Pat Cleveland and fashion designer Whitney Port, who dolled them up for a night out at Lucky Cheng’s drag queen cabaret. There, they met Ms. J, who introduced them to their runway challenge. Krista’s personality on the runway won the audience’s vote and she was declared the winner. She and Angelea won specially designed pieces from Whitney Port’s collection.

While leaving for the photo shoot, the other girls finally had enough of Alasia's tardiness, and decided to leave her (with the elevator hanging up on Alasia, she resorted to use the stairs instead). The girls were split into two teams – Angelea, Anslee, Krista and Raina with their mentor Weaven Steven, and Alasia, Alexandra and Jessica with Derek J. They had to model in dresses made entirely out of hair, with the other team will try to distract them. Krista embodied Grace Jones and she produced a stellar film. Alexandra's performance was once again deemed lukewarm.

At panel, a shepherd arrived with sheep, which lead to the revelation that the final six girls would be going to New Zealand for the remainder of the competition. Krista received the first call-out, and she won a surprise first-class ticket to the country and chose Angelea to join her. Angelea's shot was universally criticized, however, at the end it was revealed that her shot is the second best shot. Raina was praised too, while Jessica was praised again for her ability to jump, move and make her face look great at the same time. Alasia's shot didn't receive praise, as it was surely an admirable photo.

The judges saw Anslee as purely a beauty model, and didn't feel enough passion from Alexandra. In the end, Anslee was sent packing as Alexandra joined the other five girls bound for New Zealand.

First call-Out: Krista White
Bottom two: Alexandra Underwood & Anslee Payne-Franklin
Eliminated: Anslee Payne-Franklin

The show was created and is hosted by talk-show host and model Tyra Banks, who also serves as the head judge and executive producer of the show. The first "cycle" premiered in May 2003 and was one of UPN's highest rated shows. The show's seventh cycle was the first of the shows among regular programming on UPN's successor network, The CW, and thus far is the network's highest rated series. The opening theme is performed by Tyra Banks and is produced by Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins. Banks co-produces the show with Ken Mok and Anthony Dominici, and is an independent production of 10 by 10 Entertainment and Bankable Productions (part of the dummy company/joint venture Pottle Productions), distributed for The CW by Bankable Productions and syndicated internationally by KingWorld (and its successor CBS Television Distribution). For the 2006–2007, 2007–2008 and 2008–2009 television seasons, ANTM was the #1 show in average viewers on The CW.

Spartacus: Blood and Sand is a Starz television series that premiered on January 22, 2010. The series is inspired by the historical figure of Spartacus (played by Andy Whitfield), a Thracian gladiator who from 73 to 71 BC led a major slave uprising against the Roman Republic. Executive producers Steven S. DeKnight and Robert Tapert focused on structuring the events of Spartacus' obscure early life leading up to the beginning of historical records. The show has been rated TV-MA for graphic violence, strong sexual content, and coarse language.

The show was initially renewed for a second season but production was delayed because Whitfield was diagnosed with early-stage non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Due to the delay, Starz produced a six-episode prequel series, entitled Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. Pre-production of season 2 began following the announcement that Whitfield was cancer free, however his cancer recurred. Starz has since replaced Whitfield with actor Liam McIntyre, who will play Spartacus for season two

Ghost Hunters S06E07

Episode 07 - Ghosts In The Attic (14/04/2010)

Imagine if your dream house turned into a house of horrors! It happened in Amityville, and it's happening in Plymouth, Mass.

Thirty years ago, John and Pauline Grzelak moved into a house that seemed to have permanent residents. Recently, the spirits have turned mean- one shadow even punched a relative in the stomach! The family has seen several shadows, a woman in red, orbs of light, a little girl walking around and Pauline reported a woman putting extreme pressure on her chest as she was sleeping.

Pauline is frightened to the point that she wants to leave her home. The team is definitely anxious to get in and help this family out so they can be at peace in their home.

Jason and Grant begin investigating the first floor with aggressive EVP work. The whole living room is suddenly filled with a blue light, but it goes out as soon as the guys entered the room. Is the light leading them upstairs? Jason and Grant move to the master bedroom, and they hear someone moving downstairs. Then a rattling sound comes from upstairs. As Jason says, this thing is in control and wants them to know it can lead them wherever it wants them to go.

Taking a turn on the second floor, Amy and Kris hear an outrageous hissing noise but they can't figure out what that noise is! Eerie!

Back on the first floor, Jay and Grant see a shadow popping in and out by the window in the corner as the family had reported. Grant went outside to recreate that effect, to no avail. Whatever they are seeing is INSIDE the house with them.

At the reveal, Pauline reports that she had that pressure on her chest once more! Grant tells her about his experience with sleep paralysis, which may explain her situation. Meanwhile, Jason reveals the team's experiences with the moving shadow, the bright light and the hissing noise.

Jason also plays the most interesting find: a woman's voice saying "Do you see me?"

Pauline still appears to be uncomfortable, and who wouldn't be? So Jason and Grant reassure her that these spirits are just people and she can talk to them directly. Don't forget, Grant reminds Pauline, they are only an hour away and can always come see her in a time of need.

Next it's the NJ Bar and Grill where a man was once murdered by his mistress while playing pool. In the bar area, two wine bottles had levitated and hit the ground. A shadow has taunted one of the owners, and oddities have frightened workers out of the basement more than once.

Jay and Grant attack the main claim in the bar area. Every step and movement vibrates the bar, but would it be enough to move 2 wine bottles? Before they can address it they are distracted by odd sounds from the kitchen. Darn, it's just a compressor fan.

Taking a turn in the bar, Britt and Amy play the flashlight game, asking the ghosts to turn the light on and off ONLY on command. The spirits light the light each time. They tighten the screw top, and the spirit continues to control the flashlight. Whoa.

Kris takes a stroll through the basement. Zip happens. But the audio later reveals a voice joining her in reading her EMF devices aloud.

So the evidence points to a haunting in NJ.

Episode 06 - New York Women (14/04/2010)

The girls visited Ann Shoket at the Seventeen Magazine headquarters, and Alasia’s insistence on taking a shower beforehand caused them to be late. Ann taught them about how to dress in order to flatter all kinds of body types. They were then given 5 minutes to dress themselves up, and as a surprise, all of them got to keep the outfits they chose. The next night, the girls were invited to Tinsley Mortimer’s launch party of her new line of handbags, and were given the opportunity to mingle with the guests as well as to have some one-on-one time with Tinsley. Jessica’s sunny personality and cute outfit impressed Tinsley the most and she won a photo shoot in Seventeen Magazine, which she shared with Brenda and Raina (since Jessica was first call-out at the previous judging, she got to choose two people instead of one).

The photo shoot took place in the subway and at Grand Central – 42nd Street station, which was also their first CoverGirl assignment. The girls had to portray different facets of New York women.

At panel, Angelea finally received the first call-out, after three second call-outs. Krista and Anslee met with very positive reviews, while Alexandra and Raina was a bit criticized for being playing safe. André harshly criticized Jessica’s choice of shoes, and her combative responses displeased the judges. Alasia’s bad photo and lack of focus and Brenda’s lack of chemistry in front of the camera and looking old in her photos put them in the bottom two. In the end, a teary Alasia was saved again as Brenda was eliminated.

First call-out: Angelea Preston
Bottom two: Alasia Ballard & Brenda Arens
Eliminated: Brenda Arens

Ghost Hunters S06E06

Episode 06 - Haunted Reform School (07/04/2010)

This week the TAPS team investigates Preston Castle, once a notorious reform school for boys in Northern California. The team will be venturing into new territory in trying to communicate with the ghosts of young boys who made as much trouble when they were living as they're making dead.

People have seen apparitions of a man in a white coat in the doctor's office. The infirmary, meanwhile, seems to be haunted by a youth who'd been shot trying to escape the school. Occurrences upstairs include humming noises, groups of voices, a mist and a woman claiming she was pinched on the butt. Really.
In the basement, people have heard noises. In the kitchen where a housekeeper had been murdered by a youth, people have been touched and have heard a voice crying "help me". Amy Bruni is particularly pumped for this investigation since she's only a few miles from her childhood home.
Let's go, lights out.

Jason and Grant start out in the infirmary and right away Jay sees some dancing shadows. The two move about the main floor and Grant spies what appears to be a figure looking down on them from upstairs! They chase the shadow up to the second floor- but the floor had fallen out so they couldn't go any further.

That's when something yelled Graaaaaaant!! Grant responded to the voice, and he heard it again! Jason heard it that time too. As Grant is narrating to the camera the turn of events, he sees a figure pass before the window. The guy can't get a break from the paranormal tonight!

In the kitchen, sight of the murder of Anna Corbin, Kris and Britt conduct an EVP session. They see a light down a hallway, and there's no way to see where it came from. Let's hope Britt's mini DVD picked it up. Amy joins Britt in the infirmary for more EVP. Twice Amy saw a shadow figure more clearly than any she'd seen in a long time.

Now Steve and Tango take a turn in the doctor's office where they try to create shadows and movements in the reflective glass to debunk the claims of apparitions. Yet they can't pull it off. They get some temperature fluctuations, but it turns out to be a draft by the stairs.

While conducting and EVP session on the second floor, Jason and Grant hear bizarre sounds that are leading them in different directions. Then a scream comes from down the hallway! When the guys start to head out, Grant spies an old iron bed on wheels, which makes those same noises they had heard earlier.

Britt and Steve also hear a high-pitched voice in the basement. Back on the second floor Amy throws a ball hoping to get a toss back, but ziltch happens. Grant and Tango check out the basement and debunk the swinging door claims. They hear footsteps and the sound of a door opening and closing- and boy is Tango excited by this! Steve and Jason took a final sweep of the second floor but found nothing.

The analysis shows the team captured a voice responding to Jason, the voice saying Grant's name and the scream. The tape confirms the footsteps and door closing that Tango and Grant experienced in the basement. The final evidence was thermal, but it was hard to figure out what the image was.

Lots of shadows. Lots of noises. Lots of potential paranormal activity going on at Preston castle that warrants further investigation.

Episode 05 - Smile and Pose (07/04/2010)

The models received letters from home to cheer them up. The next day, they arrived at Roosevelt Island, where they were tasked to create chemistry between themselves and a male model, who turned out to be Nigel. Later, they met comedian Ross Matthews, and their challenge required them to model with him and produce a good shot with only five frames. Jessica won and received a pair of $6500 Jude Frances diamond earrings, while Alasia (who had the best photo the previous week) received a $5000 ring.

The photo shoot took place at New York's Garment District – Canal Street, Chinatown. The girls were dressed up ala fashion faux pas, to raise awareness about the detriment of counterfeit fashion products. Jessica, Angelea and Krista wowed Jay in their performance, while Alexandra’s confidence took a beating when she received mediocre feedback.

At judging, Jessica easily become the most praised again the week, as the judges was extremely impressed with her creativity to produce such great shot. Nigel also commented that every single part of her shot absolutely tells a story about fake, while Andre praising her ability to jumps, make various poses and make her face looks great in the same time. Another girls also get a bit praise, including Angelea, Krista, Anslee, Brenda, Alasia, and Raina.

Alexandra's dour picture landed her in the bottom two along with Tatianna, whose film from week to week was deemed weak, which made Tyra choosing her best photo difficult (despite having at least one great photo to show at panel). In the end, Tatianna was sent home due to her inability to produce great photo because of her ability, not just of luck.

This episode was dedicated to the memory of Alexander McQueen.

First call-out: Jessica Serfaty
Bottom two: Alexandra Underwood & Tatianna Kern
Eliminated: Tatianna Kern

Ghost Hunters S06E05

Episode 05 - Touched By Evil (31/03/2010)

At some point the TAPS might consider taking up residence in New Jersey, as it seems to be full of haunted locales!

This week the team is off for The Southern Mansion in Cape May. Built as a summer home during the civil war, today it is an Inn that has a few guests that aren't checking in at the front desk. Dave Tango's father, Bruce, has experienced first hand some of the paranormal activity at the mansion and is joining the investigation.

The tour of the mansion reveals downright weird activity. Glasses dissolving to sand? People being grabbed? A soldier walking through walls? A soldier chatting up a woman? Wafting aromas of gardenias? The ghost woman possibly behind the activity could be Esther's- the niece of the original owner. This is going to be interesting.

Jason and Grant kick off the night in Esther's room, and immediately are struck by the smell of floral perfume. Then the smell was gone, but re-emerged in the hallway. As they chase the odor, they hear footsteps and voices, groaning and moaning on the staircase! The smell keeps following Jason, and he feels a massive cold spot. Meanwhile, the K-2 meter is lighting up. As Grant says, "that's crazy".

Amy and Kris hit the kitchen and immediately hear a man's voice. They set a vibration detector against the glass hoping to catch a break, but no luck. Dave Tango and his Dad check out the bar, and while baiting the soldier-ghost out with offers of drink, something firmly grabs Bruce's arm.

A second team, Britt and Steve, takes a turn on the staircase. They hear thuds, footsteps and other assorted noises. Brit sees a shadow moving on the third floor, so the guys sneak up to check it out, but find nothing. At the same time Team Tango investigates the kitchen and hear a mysterious sound. They hear another noise and Bruce sees a black light shadow duck out of the pantry that he couldn't make out. Upon further review Dave realizes that the circuit box has a flashing light and makes a thumping noise. DARN! Bruce really wanted to see a ghost!

Meanwhile, the claims of knocking noises between rooms 9 and 10 need investigating so Jay and Grant head to the third floor. As plumbers, they are quick to note that the pipes run through the wall near where people hear the sounds. The claims couldn't be officially debunked, but still they have to wonder.

Britt and Amy take on the ballroom, and hear mysterious noises that lead them into the closet. They each catch a glimpse of something in a mirror, but they couldn't nail it down. As Amy says, "that was weird as hell".

This was quite a night, so the analysis should be interesting. It turns out the video footage catches a knocking in response to Tango's "shave and a haircut" in the ballroom. Even more chilling is the video of the door closing while Amy and Britt spent time in that same room.

Each investigator had a personal experience to report, and there is no denying there is something paranormal going on in the Southern Mansion. The things that happen there are certainly not things that happen in your everyday house!

Episode 04 - America's Next Top Vampire (31/03/2010)

Sally Hershberger visited the girls, and revealed that the "transformation" that Tyra announced last week is that Sally will be cutting Brenda's hair shorter, much to Brenda's dismay. The models were then taken to the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre to learn about improv. They were each given a scenario and a respective emotion to carry out the action in. Back at the house, Brenda received an edgier 80s-inspired cut. The girls went to Times Square and received their challenge from the newest CoverGirl spokesmodel, Dania Ramirez, who instructed them to do voice-overs for a CoverGirl Clean commercial. Tatianna’s playful commercial allowed her personality to shine through, and she won a CoverGirl shoot for Seventeen Magazine and CoverGirl.com.

The models posed as vampires in a bloody bathtub at the photo shoot. White-out contact lenses that they had to wear left them virtually blind. Brenda found trouble and pain while putting on her lenses. All the girls inspired their photographer and Jay on set, except Simone, who landed in the bottom two together with Anslee, who gave excuses for her flat photo as well as her dismal performance at the reward challenge. However, Simone’s contrived posing in her photos sent her packing.

First call-out: Alasia Ballard
Bottom two: Anslee Payne-Franklin & Simone Lewis
Eliminated: Simone Lewis
