Episode 17 - You’re Gonna Get It (27/04/2011)

If you feel your life is lacking a sense of purpose, you may want to join the Larmy. What's the Larmy, you ask? Well, it's Laurie's Twitter name and it stands for The Laurie's Army. Join the Larmy now! Okay, now we can move on to the adventures of the Cul-De-Sac Crew.

Jules has a fear of making a fool of herself in front of strangers. That's why she's not into playing bar trivia. Ellie, Grayson and Travis are up for a little Q&A action though. The loser must drive Bobby's lucky visor to him, as he's competing in his first pro golf tournament in years. Travis is the first man out thanks, in part, to all the mocking from Grayson and Ellie.

At the golf tourney, caddy Andy is having a tough time doing his job. A dip in the hotel left him a little off balance thanks to an earful of water. Fortunately, Travis is there to sub in during a confidence dance to help calm his nervous dad. It seems to do the trick, as Bobby gets off to a strong start. It could also have something to do with the positive vibes Jules sends through the TV. The woman has special powers.

In addition to tweeting to the Larmy, Laurie does charity work to help raise funding to keep libraries in public schools. Jules wants in on this feel-good activity. She immediately takes charge of the charity. As a reward for all her hard work, Jules is asked to lead a class of kids in the Pledge of Allegiance. As we all know, it goes a little something like this:

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. And to the republic for Richard Stands…"

Yes, Jules thought the pledge was written by a guy named Richard Stands. This experience only adds to the terror Jules has regarding public humiliation. She believes people on the street are staring at her after getting wind of what went down at the library. She prays that the spotlight be taken off of her and put on someone else. Moments later, Bobby has a major meltdown at the golf tournament. Told ya Jules had special powers.

Bobby's epic collapse at the golf tourney earns him the nickname "Wrong Balls." The phrase is trending above "Bieber" on Twitter. Travis thinks he should have done more to stop his dad from tanking at the tourney. Jules, however, blames herself for sending out bad vibes. Either way, the damage is done. Bobby "Wrong Balls" Cobb t-shirts are selling big time all over town.

In other news, Laurie has been obliterating Ellie and Grayson at the bar trivia game. It's a remarkable accomplishment considering she thinks NATO is the guy who used to live in a guest house in Brentwood. She tweets the news of her domination of knowledge to all of her Larmy followers. Actually, what's she's really doing is bouncing questions to Travis. He's been feeding her the answers all day. It's a little payback for all that earlier mocking. Love it!

As far as the Bobby situation, he's embracing his embarrassment. He's also profiting from it through all those t-shirts and a fully-booked golf lesson schedule. He's a pop culture phenomenon! Bobby says, "You can't hear the world laughing at you if you're laughing harder." This inspires Jules to take another crack at the Pledge of Allegiance. She's gets pretty far into it before saying "invisible" instead of "indivisible." So close, Jules. So close.

Cougar Town is an American television sitcom that premiered on ABC on 23 September 2009. The series focuses on a recently divorced mom in her forties facing the often humorous challenges, pitfalls and rewards of life's next chapter, along with her son, ex-husband, and friends who together make up her dysfunctional, but supportive and caring extended family.

Justified is an American television drama series created by Graham Yost based on the fictional character Raylan Givens, a U.S. Marshal, from Elmore Leonard's novels Pronto and Riding the Rap and his short story "Fire in the Hole". The series is set in the city of Lexington, Kentucky and the hill country of Eastern Kentucky, specifically in and around Harlan. Timothy Olyphant portrays Givens, a tough, southern-bred federal lawman, enforcing his own brand of - at times - extralegal justice.

Justified premiered on March 16, 2010, on the FX network. In Canada, Justified airs on Super Channel. Having, according to Metacritic, garnered "universal acclaim", the show was renewed for a second season, which premiered on February 9, 2011.

Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens is a 19th century-style[citation needed], modern-day officer, who enforces his brand of justice which puts a target on his back with criminals and puts him at odds with his superiors in the U.S. Marshals Service. As a result of his having eagerly shot a Miami fugitive in a "justified" shooting in his South Florida assignment, he gets reassigned to the district covering his rural Eastern Kentucky mining hometown of Harlan.

After returning from Tribal Council, Steve wants to reconcile with Phillip, but after doing so, Phillip doesn't think it was genuine. Rob then says he is protecting Phillip in an attempt to take him to the end. The next morning, Phillip says he had a vision telling him where his shorts are and after a short search, he is able to find them. On Redemption Island, Matt confesses he is reaching his breaking point but continues to have strong faith that he is there for a reason. Later after returning from the redemption duel, Andrea feels that Matt may be angry with her for assisting in voting him out. After the Immunity Challenge, Jeff gives the tribe a mystery package that they aren't supposed to open until they get to tribal. Back at the beach, Rob suspects that the twist may be that two people will be voted out. Rob tells his alliance that if this is the case, they will vote for Ralph first and Andrea second since she is the closest with Matt.

Survivor: Redemption Island is the twenty-second season of the American CBS competitive reality television series Survivor, which premiered on February 16, 2011. Applications were due in January 2010, and filming lasted from August to September 2010. The season was filmed in the vicinity of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, the same filming location as the previous season. The show features returning players Russell Hantz and Rob Mariano, and 16 new players to Survivor.

Tom and Jerry is an American series of theatrical animated cartoon films created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, centering on a never-ending rivalry between a cat (Tom) and a mouse (Jerry) whose chases and battles often involved comic violence. Hanna and Barbera ultimately wrote and directed one hundred and fourteen Tom and Jerry shorts at the MGM cartoon studio in Hollywood, California between 1940 and 1957, when the animation unit was closed. The original series is notable for having won the Academy Award for Animated Short Film seven times, tying it with Walt Disney's Silly Symphonies as the theatrical animated series with the most Oscars. A longtime television staple, Tom and Jerry has a worldwide audience that consists of children, teenagers and adults, and has also been recognized as one of the most famous and longest-lived rivalries in American cinema. In 2000, TIME named the series one of the greatest television shows of all time.

Beginning in 1960, in addition to the original 114 H-B cartoons, MGM had new shorts produced by Rembrandt Films, led by Gene Deitch in Eastern Europe. Production of Tom and Jerry shorts returned to Hollywood under Chuck Jones's Sib-Tower 12 Productions in 1963; this series lasted until 1967, making it a total of 161 shorts. The cat and mouse stars later resurfaced in television cartoons produced by Hanna-Barbera and Filmation Studios during the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s; a feature film, Tom and Jerry: The Movie, in 1992 (released domestically in 1993); and in 2001, their first made-for TV short, Tom and Jerry: The Mansion Cat for Boomerang. The most recent Tom and Jerry theatrical short, The Karate Guard, was written and co-directed by Barbera and debuted in Los Angeles cinemas on September 27, 2005.

Today, Time Warner (via its Turner Entertainment division) owns the rights to Tom and Jerry (with Warner Bros. handling distribution). Since the merger, Turner has produced the series, Tom and Jerry Tales for The CW's Saturday morning "The CW4Kids" lineup, as well as the recent Tom and Jerry short, The Karate Guard, in 2005 and a string of Tom and Jerry direct-to-video films - all in collaboration with Warner Bros. Animation. In February 2010, the cartoon celebrated its 70th anniversary and a DVD collection of 30 shorts, Tom and Jerry Deluxe Anniversary Collection, was released in late June 2010 to celebrate the animated duo's seventh decade. It then had a rerun on Cartoon Network.

Dancing with the Stars S12E12

Episode 11 Week Six Results - 26/04/2011 In case you're wondering what NKOTBSB stands for, it's what happens when the New Kids on the Block merge with the Backstreet Boys. Two of the most popular boy bands of all time take to the Dancing With The Stars stage to kick off the night in fine "guilty pleasures" fashion.






The first results report of the night reveals that Romeo & Chelsie and Chelsea & Mark are safe. Then Kendra & Louis treat the crowd to an encore performance of their sexy Samba. It was still super-hot judging by the look on Len's face.

We learn that the next couple definitely still in the competition is Hines & Kym. Kirstie & Maks are also safe. Then kids take the stage for the first part of the "Macy's Stars of Dance" performance. They grow up right before our eyes. The dance comes full circle as a senior couple sways until the two kids who kicked off the dance bring it to a happy ending.





Pia Toscano wows the crowd while Mark and Karina dance to her rendition of "I'll Stand By You." You'll be happy to know Tom didn't make things awkward by asking Pia if she's dating Mark. He merely asked if he was a good kisser. Smooth, Tom. Real smooth.

The next safe couple is Kendra & Louis. Despite a spill the night before, Ralph & Karina are also moving on. That means Chris & Cheryl must say goodbye to the ballroom. Chris joked that this is good timing, as he has a Royal Wedding to attend anyway.







As for the rest of the stars, they'll have to stay stateside for rehearsals until the next time they take center stage.

Episode 06 - Society Hill (26/04/2011)

Daphne Zimmer is the editor of Society Fair magazine. Well, she was until her body was found floating in the pool at her Chestnut Hill mansion. Even though there are signs of a struggle, Megan determines that the victim has been dead for at least two days. Oh, and one more thing. Megan’s mom was Daphne’s friend.

There’s a lock of hair floating in the pool that doesn’t belong to the victim. Megan asks Curtis to analyze some blow fly maggots found in the victim’s ear to lock down time of death. Ethan gets to dissect the hair. Megan wants to find the hair donor herself at the Society Fair offices. The place is filled with busy little workers. None of them seem to know that their boss is dead.

Daphne’s assistant, Stephen Burkett, is a nervous hair-twirler who claims he hasn’t seen the boss lady for five days. Megan discovers acrylic nail marks in the victim’s skin. They belong to her office manager, Lauren Matthews, who says she had pull Daphne away when she went ballistic on a copy editor.

Surveillance video shows Stephen Burkett getting angry after a phone call with Daphne five days ago. He was ticked because she sent him to Chicago to get a scarf. Bud says, “That’s the most ridiculous errand I’ve ever heard of.” That coupled with the fact that Daphne was holding Stephen back from writing professionally could be a motive for murder.

Megan says the timeline doesn’t fit for Burkett to be the killer. She also learns Daphne suffered from kidney problems that probably began after she’d been beaten up about a year ago. Peter believes her unreported assault may be linked to department store magnate Colin Lloyd. Daphne printed a story that cost him millions. Megan realizes the only way to question this guy without his lawyers around is to crash a black tie party. Guess who’s coming to dinner?

Peter rents a tux and Megan dons a dandy dress that she surely won’t ever be wearing in the morgue. Our favorite medical examiner poses for a picture with her prime suspect. She plucks a piece of hair from Colin’s head before he can even say cheese. CLICK! The picture’s snapped, the suspect is ticked and Megan’s mom, Joan Hunt, is humiliated.

The photo Peter took shows Colin to have an eye disease that he passed on to his son, Timmy Akers, who just happens to be an intern for Society Fair magazine. Timmy doesn’t get along with dear old dad. In fact, he’s the one who gave Daphne the inside scoop on Colin Lloyd. Timmy ran errands for her. He’d get things like bottled water because she was always thirsty and a space heater because she was always cold.

Ethan finds traces of arsenic and lead in the hair. He asks an unusually happy Kate to help him do further analysis. Ethan wonders what has his boss so giddy. It could have something to do with those secret phone calls she’s been taking. In other news, Curtis locks down the time of death as two days which makes Stephen Burkett a viable suspect once again. The fact that he was secretly feeding aspirin into Daphne’s sensitive system to keep her home sick is enough to get him for involuntary manslaughter. But Megan isn’t satisfied.

Megan realizes that micro-bleeds around the heart suggest Daphne’s cause of death was electrocution. Kate and Ethan determine the mystery hair is over a hundred years old. Other elements found on it may have come from a keepsake locket like the one Lauren Matthews wears. As it turns out, Lauren was upset about a writing competition Daphne opened up to everyone. She confronted her boss at her home. An argument escalated to the point where Lauren tossed Daphne and her plugged-in space heater into the pool. Case closed.

Megan is pleasantly surprised when Peter invites her out for drinks with the gang. She won’t be able to join them though. Her mom asked her to dinner as part of a truce for the problems they’ve had in the past. Megan shows up a few minutes late, but mom doesn’t seem to mind. She says, “I didn’t give up on you, you know?” This little tidbit makes Megan smile.

Body of Proof is an American medical drama television series created by Chris Murphey and produced by ABC Studios. Starring Dana Delany and Jeri Ryan, the series premiered on March 29, 2011.

The series stars Delany as Dr. Megan Hunt, a medical examiner. The show will focus on Hunt's efforts to balance the demands of her professional life with her personal life. Hunt was previously employed as a top flight neurosurgeon who has a life changing automobile accident. Her boss is the city's chief medical examiner, played by Ryan.

A brilliant neurosurgeon, Dr. Megan Hunt had it all, or so she thought. As the first female head of Neurosurgery at a prominent university hospital in Philadelphia, she never paid attention to how the requirements of her profession were reflected in her personal life, until her husband divorced her and she lost custody of their seven-year-old daughter. Still not recovered from the emotional trauma, Megan was physically transformed – a car accident left her with a condition called paresthesia – random attacks of numbness and cramping of her hands. Tragically, this disease did not appear before Megan went back to work. During an operation, she lost control of her instruments, which resulted in a patient's death. Megan's life as a neurosurgeon was finished.

Five years later, Megan has found new life as a court-medical expert, using her medical instincts that guided her so well when diagnosing the living to instead discover causes of death, disclose who was responsible, and why. As she seeks answers, she finds clues in the bodies of the dead. The body, in fact, is the proof. And with her unique blend of intelligence, instinct and medical knowledge, she can read the body like no other.

Marti convinces Julian to let her represent a Lancer University student at Honor Court, but she soon realizes the case is even more personal than she originally thought. Vanessa and Red are shocked to find out that Red's ex-wife, Emily, has been hired to dig up dirt on Lancer's athletic programs and staff.

Hellcats is an American cheerleading comedy-drama television series that airs on The CW in the United States. Based on the book Cheer: Inside the Secret World of College Cheerleaders by journalist Kate Torgovnick, the series focuses in the lives of college cheerleaders, mainly Marti Perkins (Aly Michalka), a pre-law college student who has to join the cheerleading team, the Hellcats, in order to get the athletic scholarship she needs. The main cast also includes Ashley Tisdale, Robbie Jones, Heather Hemmens, Matt Barr, Gail O'Grady and Sharon Leal.

In May 2010, Hellcats had been picked by The CW for the fall 2010–11 season. Initially with a 13-episode order, The CW aired the series after America's Next Top Model on Wednesday nights. The pilot episode aired on September 8, 2010, and became the first premiere to ever match or build on an America's Next Top Model lead-in since The CW began in 2006. The CW later gave a full season order for the series, with executives saying they were "thrilled that [it] paid off for us".

Hellcats follows Marti Perkins, a pre-law college student at Lancer University, who lost her scholarship and has no other choice but to join the college's cheer squad, the Hellcats, in order to obtain a new one. There she meets her new roommate and team captain Savannah Monroe, the injured flyer Alice Verdura, her new partner Lewis Flynn and the Hellcats coach Vanessa Lodge who hopes to win nationals, otherwise the cheer leading program will be cut. All the while, Marti also has to deal with her financially unstable and sometimes irresponsible mother, Wanda Perkins, whom she often has to bail out of difficult situations, and her best friend Dan Patch. Dan and Savannah begin dating and subsequently split after Marti revealed that she and Dan hooked up, but Savannah and Dan reconcile at Dan's brother's wedding.

Episode 01 - Blind Auditions, Part 1 (26/04/2011)

"The Voice" (NBC TV show), formerly known as "The Voice of America," is a reality singing competition series. NBC is combining two of the most successful reality show producers—John de Mol ("Big Brother," "Fear Factor") and Mark Burnett ("Survivor" NBC's "The Apprentice")—and leading unscripted TV producers Warner Horizon Television ("The Bachelor" franchise, "Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew")—to present a fresh singing competition show in "The Voice."

"The Voice" is modeled after the very popular Dutch version of the show ("The Voice of Holland") that has displaced the Dutch version of "The X Factor" and "American Idol" as the #1 talent competition show in Holland.

The television audience will also have a say in determining the competition's finalists, as they vie for the grand prize of a recording contract.

Four celebrity artists each will form teams of singers that they will coach and mentor throughout the competition. Individuals will be eliminated until each celebrity only has one team member left who will compete in the finals to be named "The Voice" in a live finale. And to guarantee that the celebrities pick the best of the best, the series introduces a unique twist—the initial audition process is blind; coaches can only hear the singer but cannot see them.

The show's innovative format features three stages of competition. The first begins with the blind audition, then the competition enters into a battle phase, and finally, the live performance shows.





During the blind auditions, if a coach is impressed, he/she pushes a button to select the contestant for his/her team of competitors. At this point, the coach's chair will swivel so that he/she can face the contestant he/she has selected. If more than one coach selects the talent, the power shifts to the contestant who may choose which coach he/she wants to work with throughout the competition. A contestant is eliminated when he/she is not selected by any coach.

Once the teams are set, the battle is on. Coaches will mentor the contestants and make them over, and ultimately will transform their superlative voices to allow the singers to become star artists. To help them decide who they want to advance, the coaches will pit two of their own team members against each other to sing the same song in front of a studio audience. Based on this, the coaches will pick who they want to continue developing and who should go home.

In the final performance phase of the competition, the top contestants from each team will compete against each other during a live broadcast. The television audience will vote to select who will move on from each team and who will be eliminated.

At last, each coach will have their best contestant left standing to compete in the finale. From these four, one will be named "The Voice of America" and will receive the grand prize of a recording contract.

Make It or Break It S02E15

Episode 15 - Hungary Heart (25/04/2011)

After the Rock‘s embarrassing lost to Pinewood, the lowest ranked team in the country, Payson, Emily, and Lauren are headed to compete in Hungary with a more stern Darby as their coach. Steve warns Darby that everyone is going to be watching her and if she appears unable to handle the girls, the NGO will take action.

Payson notices Sasha‘s unsigned release papers waiting to be mailed to him in Romania.

Damon visits Emily before the girls leave for the meet and Emily questions Damon about his relationship with Kaylie after she witnessed the two singing together on stage. Emily is also annoyed that Damon didn‘t tell her about Chloe working at the strip club. Emily decides it‘s too much and breaks up with Damon.

While on the plane, Payson fed up with Darby, tells the girls she is going to get Sasha back as their coach. Payson initiates a plan in which the girls ditch Darby at the airport during their layover and they catch another flight to Romania.

While in Romania, Emily drinks an energy drink and Payson reminds her that she shouldn‘t be drinking energy drinks due to how many banned substances they contain and could possibly cause her to fail a drug test.

The girls find Sasha working in a bar, and he refuses to return at first but later gives in after Payson stubbornly stays behind to wait for him.

Kaylie and Damon become closer as they discuss Kaylie‘s eating disorder, Emily, and music. Sasha returns to the meet in Hungary to coach the girls and Darby is not happy. After the meet, the International chairman approaches Emily and Sasha with a concern regarding her test. When Emily tries to defend her test by stating that she drank an energy drink, the Chairman informs her that her test did not reveal banned substances, but rather that she is pregnant.

When the Rock girls compete against the Chinese everyone calls them gutsy. (Or crazy.) When they win five medals -- compared to the National Team's four -- people say they're the best. But the Rock gymnasts and their coach are also being called renegades – a label that could hurt them in the eyes of the National Committee.

It's a risky choice to go against the National Committee -- one that could have serious ramifications. And it's not the only major decision the gymnasts have had to make. Kaylie risks losing her endorsements by competing in the invitational, and Emily could lose her scholarship.

Then there are the other personal choices everyone's had to make. Whether it's a decision about love, friendship or family -- everything in the girls' lives has been kicked up a notch. (Or a million.)

The stakes are higher than ever. The gymnasts will be pushed to the limit. And loyalties will be tested like never before.

All eyes are upon them. They have so much to prove. And so much to lose.

There's only one thing left to do …

Dancing with the Stars S12E11

Episode 11 Week Six Performance - 25/04/2011 What better way to kick off "Guilty Pleasures Week" than with a live performance of "MMMBop" from Hanson? Feel free to belt out your own personal rendition next time you're home alone. For now, let's check out a few of the guilty pleasures the dancers indulged in on their quest for that coveted Mirrorball Trophy.








Kirstie & Maks
Kirstie and Maks got down while dressed in brown during their Samba to Britney's "Baby, One More Time." These two have been plagued by a series of unusual events during their routines. Not tonight! They were smooth and in sync. The judges thought it was a display of the potential they witnessed in Week One. Scores of 8-9-9 gave this team their highest total to date with 26.








Chris & Cheryl
We had no idea Chris Jericho was the lead singer in a rock band! As a dancer, Chris & Cheryl's Tango to Journey's "Don't Stop Believin" drew mixed reviews from the judges. Bruno thought the dance was lacking energy and Carrie Ann thought the pressure got to him this week. Believe it or not, Len actually liked it the most. 7-8-7 scores gave them a total of 22 and a promise from Chris that he'll do better if he comes back next week.








Romeo & Chelsie
A little over a week after the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, Romeo & Chelsie did a Waltz to the love song from the hit movie based on that event. Carrie Ann thought the dance was magical. Bruno saw the love story unfolding with every step. Carrie Ann also felt the love, as she gave out the first 10 of the season. The other judges went with 9s, giving Romeo & Chelsie a seemingly unsinkable score of 28.








Chelsea & Mark
We were treated to another high-energy dance from Chelsea & Mark. It was a very difficult routine, but they remained in sync and pulled it off with zest and enthusiasm. This is even more impressive because we learned that Mark twisted his ankle during rehearsal. You would have never known there was an issue based on how they danced. The judges felt the same way giving out another 10 and scores of 10-9-9 for a total of 28—just like Romeo & Chelsie!








Kendra & Louis
It was a hot, hot, hot high-energy Samba where Kendra & Louis were "Livin' La Vida Loca" all over the dance floor. These two were shaking anything that could possibly be shaken throughout the entire performance. The dance ended with Kendra atop a table in front of a trio of flabbergasted, yet truly impressed, judges. 8-8-9 scores give them a solid total of 25 for the night. Kendra's sexy dance was also a nice birthday present for Len.








Hines & Kim
They may have danced to "The End of the Road," but we doubt that will be the case for Hines & Kym in this competition. The judges feel they have such good chemistry, though Carrie Ann thought she caught Hines thinking about his Viennese Waltz, instead of just letting it flow through him. Usually she's completely drawn in by his dances. That's not to say she didn't like it. In fact, all the judges felt the dance was top notch. Trip-9s gives these two a total of 27.








Ralph & Karina
Ralph looked like a matador on a mission as he embarked on his fast-moving Paso. There was an incident about halfway through where Karina took a spill after tripping over Ralph's big coat. But her partner picked her up and the two of them nailed the rest of the dance. The judges were impressed with the courage and fortitude on display. Hey, they also liked the dance! Trip-8s give them a total of 24 for the night.

You can tell we're rolling along the "Road to the Finals" after seeing the remaining stars shine so brightly in their dances. Tonight wasn't really a guilty pleasure for us. It was just a pleasure.
