Episode 04 - One Shot Kill (23/02/2011)
Our team is called to the windy city of Chicago after three random people are killed within the same week, all from what the authorities believe to be serial sniper. We learn that our unsub is upping his game when he shoots his forth victim from a farther distance. Our unsub watches from a distance while our team canvases the latest crime scene and recognizes Mick who he later discovers, via a private government site, that Mick is also a sniper. Based on the kills, the team profile's our unsub as being someone with some type of military training and is killing because of displaced anger towards an authority figure.Things get more complicated when Mick receives a pager with the message "Bang Bang" on it. Shortly thereafter, Cooper gets a call that the sniper has just killed two more people. Garcia helps us narrow down the profile of our unsub and indicates that he may have worked for a private military contractor. Mick gets another page with the message "Bang, Bang, Bang." The team rushes out to the vicinity where they think our unsub will strike again based on his past geographic kill patterns. Mick sees the riffle barrel aiming right at him from one of the floors in the above a high rise and ducks for cover narrowly missing being shot. Cooper and Beth scour the building but are unable to locate our sniper. We suspect that missing the shot of Mick angered our Unsub even further. They eventually identify our unsub as Kyle Buford. Trained by his father, Kyle killed a 12 year old boy which his father covered for him. However, when Kyle applied for the army his father secretly sent a letter to them advising them not to accept his son. Kyle ended up killing his father once he found the letter which then triggered the beginning of his murdering spree. A memorial service for Kyle's father is taking place and the team rushes there hoping to stop Kyle from carrying out his ultimate plan of killing all of his father's colleagues.
