Spartacus : Blood and Sand S01E09

Episode 09 - Whore (19/03/2010)..

Crixus is finally cleared to return to training. Spartacus is to fulfill duties as champion by satisfying desires of Licinia, the richest woman in Rome, while Crixus is asked to please Ilithyia.

Spartacus: Blood and Sand is a Starz television series that premiered on January 22, 2010. The series is inspired by the historical figure of Spartacus (played by Andy Whitfield), a Thracian gladiator who from 73 to 71 BC led a major slave uprising against the Roman Republic. Executive producers Steven S. DeKnight and Robert Tapert focused on structuring the events of Spartacus' obscure early life leading up to the beginning of historical records. The show has been rated TV-MA for graphic violence, strong sexual content, and coarse language.

The show was initially renewed for a second season but production was delayed because Whitfield was diagnosed with early-stage non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Due to the delay, Starz produced a six-episode prequel series, entitled Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. Pre-production of season 2 began following the announcement that Whitfield was cancer free, however his cancer recurred. Starz has since replaced Whitfield with actor Liam McIntyre, who will play Spartacus for season two

Archer Season 1

Archer is an animated, half-hour comedy that revolves around the spy agency known as the International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS) and the lives of its employees. Although their work of espionage, reconnaissance missions, wiretapping and undercover surveillances is daunting and enigmatic, every covert operation and global crisis are actually unmitigated occasions for the ISIS staff to undermine, sabotage and betray each other for personal gains, pleasures and prosperity.

The series features the voices of H. Jon Benjamin as the highly skilled yet incredibly vain master spy “Sterling Archer”; Aisha Tyler as fellow agent provocateur “Lana Kane”; Jessica Walter as Archer’s domineering mother and the rapacious CEO of ISIS, “Malory Archer”; Chris Parnell as the easily intimidated comptroller of ISIS, “Cyril Figgis”; Judy Greer as Malory’s loquacious secretary, “Cheryl”; Amber Nash as the discordant director of human resources for ISIS, “Pam Poovey”; and George Coe as Archer’s elderly and always exploited butler, “Woodhouse.”

After just a 10-episode debut season, Archer has gained critical exaltation, a fervid fan base and clear reverence within the television industry. In 2010, H. Jon Benjamin received an Emmy® Award nomination for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance for his work as the show’s title character, the New York Daily News declared that “Creator Adam Reed showers us with a cascade of twisted comedy that invites everyone to come in and gasp” and the Boston Herald noted that “This spy spoof hits a bull’s-eye with risqué snark and one of the best vocal casts assembled for any animated series.

Ghost Hunters S06E03

Episode 03 - Shamrock Spirits (17/03/2010)

Case #1
At Paddy Reilly's Bar in New York City, claims are that the activity is as hot after hours as it is when the bands are playing. The customers are gone but glasses are moving around and voices are speaking!

Bar manager Steve Duggan explains that in addition to having an all-Guinness draft bar, Paddy's boasts some dark shadows in the basement and bottles breaking inexplicably. In an upstairs apartment, three men saw an apparition riding a bicycle. Across the hall a tenant saw a man resembling Gene Hackman peering in the window. Strange. Very strange.

In the "Gene Hackman" apartment, Jason and Grant try to track down some strange noises to no avail, but they think the sounds are more mechanical than paranormal. So they move to the basement where the wiring and cabling immediately suggested a high EMF field. The K-2 meter proves the hypothesis. The dank and musty smell explains the reports of uneasiness.

Amy and Kris worked hard at the bar to cause a bottle to fall off the bar, yet were unable to- so the paranormal claim can't be debunked. Tango and Steve take a stab at the bar, trying to bait the spirit with a poorly-poured beer. Apparently, foamy beer is unappetizing even to the dead. Neither is Steve's listing off of all Irish stereotypes, as the spirits don't respond.

Still, the evidence is inconclusive so it is time to move on.

Case # 2
Next the team moves on to the home of abolitionist and author Harriet Beecher Stowe, sadly without Jason who is home with his sick children. After making her name as the author of Uncle Tom's Cabin, Harriet became involved in spiritualism, hosting seances in her home. Stowe engaged a medium to help her communicate with her tragically deceased son.

In the parlor, workers have experienced window shades opening on their own. Throughout the building people have heard footsteps, and in the dining room. Upstairs has creepy bedrooms, with moving flashes of light. In the visitor's center, a staffer reported seeing a figure. Grant is hoping that Stowe's involvement in the paranormal will make it easier to reach out to the spirits in her home.

In the front parlor, Grant and Steve can't find any explanation for the self-propelled window shades. So they put some devices in the middle of the room and start their EVP session. The K-2 meter lights up like crazy when the guys speak out to the spirits, but then stop just as quickly. Perhaps Grant offended the spirit by calling it Henry when it was Harriet. Who can say?

Kris and Amy, meanwhile, strike out in the dining room. Steve and Grant move up to the master bedroom to make pleasant conversation with Harriet, but the spirits are quiet tonight.

Moving on to the visitor's center, Kris and Tango look for the figure that was seen walking. With Amy outside, they try to recreate the apparition. It turns out that beneath overhead lights, a person will look bearded from a distance- so that sighting has been debunked.

While the team packs up thinking there's not much going on at the Stowe house, analysis provides information indicating otherwise. Stationary recorders in the house when it was empty picked up a strange sound, which could be the sound of checkers moving on the checkerboard.

Though the evidence is slight, the team holds out hope that there is paranormal activity in the Stowe House.

America's Next Top Model S14E02

Episode 02 - Dreckitude! (17/03/2010)

At the girls' first photo shoot. The girls were required to model only one article of clothing or accessory, which they were to select from a full-dressed mannequin. The girls' choices were:

Contestant Article of clothing:
Alasia [Vest], Alexandra [Necklace], Angelea [Shoes], Anslee [Clutch], Brenda [Watch] , Gabrielle [Leggings], Jessica [Shorts], Krista [Dress], Naduah [Sunglasses], Raina [Ring], Ren [Hat], Simone [Jacket] and Tatianna [Scarf]

At panel, Vogue Editor-at-Large André Leon Talley joined as a permanent judge. In the first judging, Jessica became the brightest star of the bunch, praising the judges for her creativity to use her whole body to create a strong photo (Tyra also told that she is shocked, and called Jessica a "chameleon" for transforming to anything). Angelea also impressed the judges for produced a very feminime shot, although in person she acted very ghetto. Ren and Brenda impressed the judges for the fire in their eyes, while Simone's good skin was highly appreciated by the judges.

Anslee successfully sell the clutch she chosen, while Tattiana successfully create a smile in her eyes. Raina was super praised by the judges for making her photo looks like a courtesan paint, but they thought it just didn't sell the ring. Alexandra and Naduah both failed to produce a super-super good photo, while Krista, Alasia and Gabrielle was deemed as the worst of the worst. Gabrielle's photo was deemed as forgettable. Tyra, Nigel and guest judge Sally considered Alasia’s photo to be weak, although André deemed it "raw and bold." Despite this, Alasia landed with Gabrielle in the bottom two. In the end, André's point of view on Alasia's photo won over the other judges, and Gabrielle was sent home.

First call-out: Jessica Serfaty
Bottom two: Alasia Ballard & Gabrielle Kniery
Eliminated: Gabrielle Kniery

The girls met Ms. J for a runway teach about pacing and removing coats while walking. They were then challenged to walk down a busy Manhattan intersection while practicing what they have just learned. The next day, the girls walked in a Rachel Roy fashion show at Lower Manhattan’s Surrogate's Courthouse, where they had to time their walks perfectly in order to avoid two swinging pendulums on the runway. Some girls struggled with their timing, most notably Alexandra—who tripped down the stairs, got knocked off the runway by a pendulum, injured her knee, and inadvertently tore her dress. Brenda won the challenge and got to keep her dress. Jessica, who was called first at the previous judging, also got to keep her dress.

The week’s photo shoot required the girls to shine through wind and rain to advertise a fast-disappearing perfume. At panel, Nigel deemed Ren’s photo as an advertisement for swine flu, while Naduah’s classic, ad-style photograph was seen as contrary to her edgy look. In the end, it’s Naduah who was eliminated.

First call-out: Raina Hein
Bottom two: Naduah Rugely & Ren Vokes
Eliminated: Naduah Rugely

The show was created and is hosted by talk-show host and model Tyra Banks, who also serves as the head judge and executive producer of the show. The first "cycle" premiered in May 2003 and was one of UPN's highest rated shows. The show's seventh cycle was the first of the shows among regular programming on UPN's successor network, The CW, and thus far is the network's highest rated series. The opening theme is performed by Tyra Banks and is produced by Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins. Banks co-produces the show with Ken Mok and Anthony Dominici, and is an independent production of 10 by 10 Entertainment and Bankable Productions (part of the dummy company/joint venture Pottle Productions), distributed for The CW by Bankable Productions and syndicated internationally by KingWorld (and its successor CBS Television Distribution). For the 2006–2007, 2007–2008 and 2008–2009 television seasons, ANTM was the #1 show in average viewers on The CW.

Scrubs Season 9

Scrubs is an American comedy-drama television series created in 2001 by Bill Lawrence and produced by ABC Studios. The show follows the lives of several employees of the fictional Sacred Heart, a teaching hospital. It features fast-paced screenplay, slapstick, and surreal vignettes presented mostly as the daydreams of the central character, Dr. John "J.D." Dorian, who is played by Zach Braff. The ninth season saw the transition from Braff as the central character to Kerry Bishé, who plays Lucy Bennett. The show's title is a play on surgical scrubs and a term for a low-ranking or insignificant person (at the beginning of the show, most of the main characters were medical interns, one of the lowest ranks in the medical hierarchy).
