The 36th season of the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live is currently in production. The season began on September 25, 2010, with former cast member Amy Poehler serving as host and Katy Perry as the musical guest.

Saturday Night Live (SNL) is a live late-night television sketch comedy and variety show developed by Lorne Michaels and Dick Ebersol. It premiered on NBC, a terrestrial television network in the United States, on October 11, 1975, under the original title of NBC's Saturday Night.

The show's sketches often parody contemporary American culture and politics. Saturday Night Live features a two-tiered cast consisting of repertory members, also called the "Not Ready For Prime Time Players" (the name used by the show's original cast), and newer cast members who are known as "Featured Players."

Each week, the show features a host who delivers an opening monologue and performs in sketches with the cast. A musical guest also performs. With the exception of season 7, the show has begun with a cold open sketch (usually based around politically-themed current events) that ends with someone breaking character and proclaiming, "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!"

Spartacus : Gods of the Arena S02E03

Episode 03 - Paterfamilias (04/02/2011)..

Just as Batiatus starts to take delight in the flourishing of an incipient fortune and foreshadowing a bright future before him, the unexpected return of his father might put an end to his business ways and life ambitions.

Spartacus: Gods of the Arena is a Starz television mini-series and prequel to Spartacus: Blood and Sand, which premiered January 21, 2011. The series follows the character Gannicus (Dustin Clare), the first gladiator to become Champion of Capua. Cast members and characters being reprised from the original series include John Hannah as Batiatus, Lucy Lawless as Lucretia, Peter Mensah as Oenomaus, and Manu Bennett as Crixus. IGN gave the series positive reviews, especially the finale, giving it a 9.5/10 and calling it "Incredible".

The mini-series features the bloody history of the House of Batiatus and the city of Capua before the arrival of Spartacus. Quintus Lentulus Batiatus becomes a lanista (manager) when he takes over his father's ludus of gladiators. He has ambitions of stepping out of his father's shadow by seeking recognition for his own name and achieving greatness for his house. By his side stands his beautiful wife Lucretia who will help her husband achieve his goal no matter what the cost. Batiatus puts all his fortunes on the man who will gain him fame and glory, his best gladiator, the Celt, Gannicus; a skilled warrior who wields his swords in the arena as if it were his last day alive. However, there are those who oppose Batiatus and his future champion(s) of Capua, plotting against him only to fall in failure. Purchased as an undisciplined and disheveled recruit in the first episode, the Gaul Crixus endures mockery and threats of death to become the greatest gladiator in the house after Gannicus. As Batiatus fends off repeated attempts by his professional rival Tullius to obtain Gannicus, his relationships with his father Titus and friend Solonius begin to suffer the strain of Quintus' relentless ambition. Former champion gladiator Oenomaus reluctantly retires from combat to become Doctore, while Syrian recruits Ashur and Dagan become fierce enemies as Ashur tries to prove himself worthy of being a gladiator. Veteran gladiators Barca and Gannicus accept the rising star of Crixus but fear that their own careers will suffer, as the machinations of Batiatus and Lucretia to court Capua's elite end in tragedy for several members of the household. Against all of this, the city's splendid new arena nears completion and with it the opening games that will make men into gods.

Fringe S03E12

Episode 12 - Concentrate and Ask Again (04/02/2011)

When a scientist falls dead after ingesting a lethal cloud of blue powder and his bones disintegrate in his body, the CDC suspects a biological attack. As the Fringe Team investigates further, a subject from Walter's past with ties to Olivia reluctantly agrees to assist with the intense case.

Fringe follows the casework of the Fringe Division, a Joint Federal Task Force supported primarily by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which includes Agent Olivia Dunham; Dr. Walter Bishop, the archetypal mad scientist; and Peter Bishop, Walter's estranged son and jack-of-all-trades. They are supported by Phillips Broyles, the force's director, and Agent Astrid Farnsworth, who assists Walter in laboratory research. The Fringe Division investigates cases relating to fringe science, ranging from transhumanist experiments gone wrong to the prospect of a destructive technological singularity to a possible collision of two parallel universes. The Fringe Division's work often intersects with advanced biotechnology developed by a company called Massive Dynamic, founded by Walter's former partner, Dr. William Bell and run by their common friend, Nina Sharp. The team is also watched silently by a group of bald, pale men who call themselves "Observers".

Season 1 introduces the Fringe Division as they investigate cases that form "the Pattern", many orchestrated by the bioterrorist organization, ZFT (Zerstörung durch Fortschritte der Technologie, or in English, Destruction through advances in technology). Olivia comes to learn she was a child test subject for Walter years ago for a nootropic drug, Cortexiphan, giving her weak psionic abilities. Walter also struggles with adjusting to normal life in Peter's care after living several years in a mental institution, and hides a secret about Peter's past from him.

In Season 2, the occurrences are found to be in conjunction with activities of a parallel universe, which is plagued by singularities occurring at weakened points of their world. The Fringe team deals with more cases that are leading to a "perfect storm" as the parallel universe appears to be at war with the prime one. Walter is forced to tell Peter that he is from the parallel universe, a replacement for his own Peter that died from a genetic disease, and that it is his prior experiments that caused the singularities in the parallel universe.

Season 3 presents episodes that alternate between the two universes. "Walternate", Walter's doppelgänger in the parallel universe, has set events in motion to assemble a doomsday device that reacts only to Peter's biology, sending his Olivia, "Fauxlivia", into the prime universe in Olivia's place, get close to Peter, and guide them to find the doomsday device's prime universe counterpart. Olivia, trapped in the parallel universe, is subjected to experimentation by Walternate to explore her Cortexiphan-induced abilities. She is able to escape to her own universe using her psionic abilities and expose Fauxlivia to Peter. Fauxlivia is extracted to the parallel universe, having withdrawn a critical component of the doomsday device, but soon finds she is pregnant with Peter's child. In the prime universe, Olivia and Peter resolve their relation due to Fauxlivia's involvement, while evidence of weak points in the fabric of reality start to develop.

The Vampire Diaries S02E13

Episode 13 - Daddy Issues (03/02/2011)

Elena, Damon, and Jenna are surprised when Johnathan Gilbert returns to Mystic Falls. Caroline tells Stefan about her conversation with Tyler, and Stefan tries to help a confused Tyler. Jeremy consoles Bonnie after her upsetting conversation with Jonas. A violent situation breaks out after When Jules takes a hostage.

Returning for its second season, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES is the story of two vampire brothers obsessed with the same beautiful girl, and battling to control the fate of an entire town. During season one, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder), returned to their hometown of Mystic Falls, Virginia, for very different reasons - Stefan was determined to get to know Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), who bears a striking resemblance to Katherine Pierce, the beautiful but ruthless vampire the brothers knew and loved in 1864, while Damon was intent on releasing Katherine from the tomb where he believed she was trapped by a witch's spell all those years ago.

In the season one finale, Elena's uncle Johnathan (guest star David Anders) set a plan in motion that brought the Founder's Day celebration to an end amid chaos, destruction and death, and saw the return of the vengeful Katherine Pierce. Elena's troubled younger brother, Jeremy Gilbert (Steven R. McQueen), was so devastated by the death of Anna (Malese Jow), the vampire who befriended him, that he lost all hope and took an overdose of pills. That same night, Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino), Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) and Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola) were in a serious car accident while trying to escape the chaos in the town square, and Caroline was rushed to the hospital, her life hanging in the balance. The events of that terrible night will also have long-range effects on Bonnie Bennett (Katerina Graham), the powerful witch who was Elena's best friend until the vampire brothers came between them; Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis) the vampire-hunter who has become an unlikely ally for Stefan and Damon; and Jenna (Sara Canning), who has yet to discover the violence that occurred in her own home.

In season two, the appearance of the villainous Katherine in Mystic Falls will throw a wrench into the love triangle between Stefan, Elena and Damon, and the other residents of Mystic Falls must choose sides as they fall victim to a new breed of danger. New and unexpected friendships will be forged, allies will become enemies, and hearts will be broken. Stefan and Damon will be forced to face a villain more evil and diabolical than they ever believed possible.

Based on the series of books by L. J. Smith, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES is from Bonanza Productions Inc., Outerbanks Entertainment and Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios with executive producers Kevin Williamson, Julie Plec, Leslie Morgenstein and Bob Levy.

American Idol S10E06

Episode 06 - Los Angeles Auditions (03/02/2011)

American Idol took a trip back home to Los Angeles, California to see what talent lurked in Hollywood. The show started with Ryan Seacrest high atop a building in downtown Los Angeles. As the cameras circled him from above, he had his own little urban "Sound of Music" moment.

For the first time in Idol history, eligible folks could audition on MySpace. The exceptional singers from MySpace, out of a total of 16,000, joined up with the LA auditioners to sing in front of the judges face-to-face. The first contestant was confident. Victoria Garrett can already visualize standing on the finale stage and enduring a long, dramatic Ryan Seacrest pause before finding out she's the American Idol. She entered the sky-high audition room and began singing something that was so high-pitched it hurt. Steven Tyler wasn't sending her to Hollywood, he sent her to "Siberia." A golden ticket to Russian Idol? After Victoria exited the room, Jennifer compared her performance to nails on a chalkboard.

Tim Halperin "had" a crush on Jennifer Lopez. He claims it was back when he was in elementary school, but it seemed like he still has some feelings for her and stated, "My Love Don't Cost A Thing." I was hoping Tim would audition with that popular Jennifer Lopez song, but he went with Maroon 5's "She Will Be Loved," which he sang right to Jennifer. When she asked Tim how old he is, he then asked her how old she is...he clearly hasn't been in Southern California long enough! Jennifer's response? "I'm young enough for you, don't worry." Where's Marc Anthony this time? Although Randy gave Tim a no, the other two judges gave out the first ticket of the day.

Justin Carter was one of the good singers in LA, and a fired up Jennifer replied, "It lacked (bleep) underneath it," and she added a charade. There must be something in the LA air (pollution) because Jennifer and Randy were bleeped this episode but not Steven! I guess he took his Austin episode "warning" to heart. Justin's voice was good enough--he's going all the way down the street to Hollywood.

Friends Daniel Gomez and Isaac Rodriguez were excited to audition for the judges. Isaac even dropped out of school to be on American Idol, so he must be really confident. He didn't tell his mom that he dropped out, and she even interviewed that she's so proud of her boy for juggling school with American Idol auditions. Uh oh. This is going to make for an awkward conversation once she sees the show. Daniel said that Isaac is a better singer, and Daniel sang first for the judges. After hearing his "I'll Be," I believe him that Isaac won't be worse. Jennifer found something positive to tell him--"You have a nice smile." Next was Isaac, and he sang "Build Me Up Buttercup." His occupation came up on the screen as "College Student?" Unfortunately for Isaac, he's not a very good singer. I hope there are still some spots left in his classes so he can return. Although he quit school, he's not going to quit singing, regardless of what the judges told him. The moral of this story: Stay in school, kids!

Karen Rodriguez is from New York and auditioned for American Idol on MySpace. She hit the high notes of her song with a lot of control, and Jennifer thought it was hot. Steven said she has the confidence, the spit, and the fire. I'm not sure what he means by having "the spit," but I think it's a good thing. Karen said Jennifer inspires her and she tried to keep from crying. Apparently, Karen sang to Jennifer on TRL many years ago, and Jennifer said she had a beautiful voice then. Jennifer is still a Karen fan, as was Steven and Randy--she's going to Hollywood! Karen stated that she hopes to be the first Latina American Idol winner.

Tynicha Roches brought her own microphone to her audition where contestants sing six feet from the judges. She also did the splits in her short, tight dress. She talked about "artises" and that she has an album ready to be composed. When Tynicha stepped into her audition she performed a Frank Sinatra tribute, and refused to stop singing when the judges asked her to. Randy got up to leave and Tynicha chased him in a circle around the set singing and making up lyrics about the judges. Steven, in all seriousness, tried to talk some sense into her. Nothing worked, so a security guard was summonsed in to escort Tynicha out of the room. In her exit interview, Tynicha continued to speak into her microphone, as Randy commented, "This is the freakiest show ever." Hey, at least there hasn't been a 7 foot armadillo today.

Belly dancer Heidi Khzam swiveled her hips to Steven's vocal percussions, and Randy and Steven were ready to send her through to Hollywood. After singing Alicia Keys' "Superwoman," Randy sends her straight to Hollywood without any discussion. Khzam!

Matthew Scott Frankel, aka "Big Stats," was all business as he discussed his job as a record producer and CEO. He claims he produces for millions of artists, but then retracted that and went with "a bunch," including Chaka Khan. After introducing himself with a long spiel to the judges, Big Stats mentioned it was time for him to formally introduce himself via rap. The rap didn't go over well, so he sang Jennifer's "Jenny From The Block." His "homie" Jeremy couldn't look more uncomfortable and unenthused to be at auditions to support his friend. When the judges turned Big Stats away, he said they "be beefin'."

William Roberts, Jeannette Manning, and Daniel Hall continued the streak of bad contestants, and Anthony Granger was "Pants on the Ground 2.0." Arista Pemberton screeched her song and put her finger in her ear. I put two fingers in each of my ears. Hoping to make the audition a 2-for-1, she danced and dove into the splits, but she won't be on American Idol or So You Think You Can Dance. Can you believe the judges have to share a city with these people all season long?!

At the end of day two in Los Angeles we met cute brothers Mark and Aaron Gutierrez. The brothers playfully introduced each other to America and said that the judges won't expect the voices that are going to come out of these "scrawny kids." They went into their audition together and sang a duet to "Lean On Me." They harmonized really well and they got the three judges to clap along. Jennifer thought it was a beautiful performance and Steven called it "God-like." Steven and Jennifer gave yeses, and Randy didn't say anything. Mark lifted his slightly younger, slightly smaller brother into the air and celebrated. Finally, sitting through all of those wacky auditions paid off!

The night didn't end there. We met one more Hollywood hopeful. Cooper Robinson is from Arkansas and claimed he's here to take over California. He went off on a tangent about how he's from way deep in the woods. Jennifer asked the question we all wanted to have answered--"How old are you?!" He thinks he's 59, but he's not sure; whatever age he is it's too old for Idol. Cooper impersonated James Brown and spazzed out all over the stage. As he stood there sweaty and panting in front of the speechless judges, he got their cue and walked out of the room. Jennifer snuck by him, with a security guard in tow, as he talked about how he's better looking than any animal ever.

I'm spent! As an LA native and resident, I'm starting to question my town...which is where talented people come to make their dreams come true.

Next week we're heading up the coast to San Francisco, where supposedly the show is saving the best for last! Can't wait!

Cougar Town S02E14

Episode 14 - Cry to Me (02/02/2011)

There's a circle of love swirling around the cul-de-sac on Valentine's Day eve. A Jules-initiated spree of good cheer comes full circle when odd neighbor Tom delivers some homemade sticky buns. Of course, Tom's not allowed to stick around to enjoy the buns with Jules and the crew. That's just the way it is.

For Grayson, Valentine's Day is a reminder of the day his dad died. He doesn't want to talk about it with anyone. Not even Jules. Think she's gonna stand for that? Nah. But the G-man simply won't break. Soon Jules initiates a circle of anger that culminates when Tom sucks back all his sticky buns with a giant outdoor vacuum. Those things must wreak havoc on the filter.

Jules must find a way to make Grayson cry. What better time to do so than on the anniversary of his dad's death? So sweet. A trip down memory lane using photo albums and anniversary videos has no effect. Jules wants to know what her boyfriend's dad was like. Grayson says, "He was pretty cool." Still no tears though.

Bobby helps Andy brainstorm for ideas on what to do for Ellie for Valentine's Day even though she claims to hate the holiday. For Ellie, February 14th simply means it is seven weeks after Christmas. So why do so many of her idiot neighbors still have their lights up? It's beyond annoying, though not as frustrating as Ellie's anti-Cupid attitude is to Andy. The guy's a showman. It's in his nature to want to wow her.

Kirsten wants a sexy picture for Valentine's Day. Travis immediately starts thinking of where he can scrounge up a shot of Ryan Reynolds riding a horse. Actually, Kirsten would prefer a sexy picture of her boyfriend. No problem, right? Laurie's an old pro when it comes to boudoir photos, so she's more than happy to hop over to the other side of the camera. The initial photo shoot does not go well.

Laurie wants Bobby to take her to a nice restaurant where he can fake dump her so she'll get a free meal. He says, "The old bitch-n-ditch. I'm in." Those two are set for V-day. But Travis, Andy and Grayson still have issues. Laurie says they should "give the women what they want." Sounds like a plan. It's also catchy lyrics for a new tune.

OPERATION: ALWAYS GIVE THE WOMEN WHAT THEY WANT is a go. Grayson tells Jules they'll forgo their fancy dinner plans to stay home and talk about his dad. Andy decides to celebrate Valentine's Day with Bobby. And Travis sucks it up by giving the sexy photo thing another try. But at the end of the day, Grayson can't go through with the whole crying thing. So sad.

Ellie crashes Andy's romantic night out with Bobby. She screams, "When I said I didn't want to do anything tonight, it didn't mean I wanted to be alone while you acted like you just got a rose on the gay hillbilly version of The Bachelor." As far as we know, no such show is in development.

Ellie storms off and Bobby heads over to help his son in a second sexy photo shoot. It's even more awkward than the first with Laurie serving as a blindfolded consultant and Jules wanting some keepsake shots with her bare-chested baby boy. The end result is a horrifying shot of Trav with a rose stuck between his teeth. Kirsten appreciates the effort. She just can't look at the photo.

Andy's plan to throw Ellie off balance by wooing Bobby works like a charm. He drags her to the center of the cul-de-sac to celebrate Valentine's Day in the most romantic way. He created a giant bonfire to burn every neighborhood Christmas decoration that wasn't put away. Tom's oversized reindeer never had a chance.

As for Jules, all she really wants is for Grayson be different with her than he is with everyone else. Actually, he is. When Ellie asked about his dad, he didn't want to talk about it. But when Jules asked, he said his father was pretty cool. Grayson didn't say much, but it actually meant a lot.

Valentine's Day night gets even better when Grayson lets Jules watch him watch Field of Dreams. The part where the son plays catch with his dead dad always gets to him. If you play it, he will cry. And he does. Happy Valentine's Day!

American Idol S10E05

Episode 05 - Austin Auditions (02/02/2011)

Austin auditions started with another cold opening, but this one was in the form of an apology. "American Idol would like to apologize for last week's outrageous behavior by Steven Tyler. Mr. Tyler has been warned and assures us it will never happen again." Enter Jake Muck. Steven: "You know what Muck rhymes with, don't you?" Jake: "Duck?" Steven: "Read my lips..."--cue the intro!

This was American Idol's third time in Austin. While Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson arrived at work in the usual way, Steven Tyler came via horse-drawn carriage. That man knows how to make an entrance!

Corey Levoy didn't meet his older sister until he was 14 due to "parental differences." Now the two are best friends and she's his biggest supporter. When Corey stood in front of the judges, he told them that she's probably harsher than they are, so the judges invited his sister, Brooks, in. A magical fourth judging chair appeared for Brooks. I never heard her name being tossed around all summer long. Corey sang Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me," and when he was through, Steven clapped for him. Apparently, Corey used to get teased for his high speaking voice, but he showed those bullies because he got four "heck yeses" from the judges and his supportive sis. The confident contestant then told Jennifer that all of his friends say he has a "JLo Booty," and now he'll be planting it on an airplane flight to California.

What do you get when you cross an English accent with a Texas drawl? Hollie Cavanagh, a cute 17-year-old girl who was a ball of nerves while performing for the judges. She showcased a nice voice when singing "At Last" by Etta James, but Randy said it wasn't strong enough. This was probably Hollie's first time not getting positive feedback on her voice, so she began to cry. Jennifer told her if she can collect herself, she can have another go with a different song. With tears in her eyes, Hollie sang Miley Cyrus' "The Climb." Part way through she became choked up as she sang "Gotta keep my head held high." An emotional Jennifer gave her a yes, as did Steven, and Randy even changed his original vote to a yes. She's going to Hollie-wood!

We saw a montage of some good looking people get rejected in Austin, and then Jennifer announced, "I'm waiting for the next American Idol to walk through the door." Enter Rodolfo Ochoa. His take on Elton John's "Circle of Life" is going to keep the judges waiting for their star.

After a montage of cowboys who couldn't sing, we met a contestant whose birth name is John Wayne Schulz. When Ryan questioned his parents why they named him John Wayne, they said because pops wanted a son that was rough and tough. Ryan said, "It would have sucked if I were your son," and Mr. Schulz said that he wouldn't be the way he is now if he grew up on the Schulz Ranch. When John Wayne's mom was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago, her one wish was for her son to audition for American Idol. As John Wayne took the stage to fulfill his mother's and his dreams, Mrs. Schulz was being interviewed outside the audition room, but became distracted and choked up at the sound of her son singing. When he sang Brooks & Dunn's "Believe," his name came up on the screen with the occupation of "Cowboy." Awesome. His performance nearly brought a tear to Jennifer's eye. The judges invited John Wayne's parents into the room as they delivered three yeses to John. His mom cried and buried her face into her tall son's arms. As they left the room she asked, "Where's your golden ticket?" I love this family! John Wayne picked up Ryan and spun him around, and then Ryan lifted John Wayne's dad and showed he could have held his own on the Schulz Ranch, however, he sustained a belt buckle injury.

Day two began with Steven pulling up in a limo instead of a carriage. He and Randy had some fun with reporters and Jennifer Lopez looked as gorgeous as ever, which Steven was quick to compliment her on. Contestant Courtney Penry believes "Ryan Seacrest is the sexiest man alive. I've been dreaming about this day forever. I will marry him some day." When Ryan approached her, she nearly cried. This pretty girl seemed harmless enough, and she turned out to be quite the comedienne. Her chicken impersonation had me asking, "What the cluck?" But her voice was strong as she sang Sugarland's "Stay." The judges liked the whole package, but they said that her voice has a few habits that she should be able to work through. With two yeses and a no (from Randy) Courtney did a celebration dance/chicken walk while chanting that Randy was still her boy. She'll be a hoot--or rather a cluck--to watch in Hollywood!

This led to three more quick clips of good singers. Shauntel Campos found success with "Ain't No Sunshine," Alex Carr made "A House Is Not A Home" his own, and Caleb Johnson channeled Chris Cornell with "Rusty Cage." There were many more incredible singers who received tickets to Hollywood, and although we didn't hear from them, you can watch their Road to Hollywood videos here on AmericanIdol.com.

Lovebirds Jacqueline Dunford and Nick Fink have one of those over-the-top relationships with Eskimo Kisses, skipping hand-in-hand, and twirling in circles across the Texas plains. The two met at Scottsdale Community College's choir--Go Fighting Artichokes! They entered the audition room together and Jacqueline showed off a mature voice with Duffy's "Mercy." As she sang, the camera was positioned so that we could see a smitten Nick enthralled by his girlfriend. When it was Nick's turn, he gave a jazzy performance of Maroon 5's "Sunday Morning." Steven and Jennifer swayed along, and Jennifer commented, "You both sang songs we hear a lot, but you both had interesting takes." Steven liked this beautiful couple, and Randy thought it was fresh, with 6 yeses the couple burst into tears. Jennifer said they were her "favorite couple on Idol in 10 years." The love story will get the Hollywood treatment out in the Entertainment Capital of the World.

Contestant Janelle Arthur explained that country people have teeth and wear shoes. She has really nice teeth and boots, in fact. She sang Duffy's "Syrup and Honey" for the judges, and outside the room her father, who looks a tad like John McCain, said that the family already knows she's a star, but now it's time for America to know that. Janelle showed good control, but Steven wanted something a little more up-tempo. She sang another tune and the judges stopped her to give her a ticket to Hollywood!

A seven foot armadillo took the stage. While Ryan helped her step out of her costume, we saw a string of bad auditions that did not win Randy over. None of them are going to Hollywood, and neither is the armadillo. Hey, American Idol could use a mascot, and you can't spell American Idol without a-r-m-a-d-i-l-(l)-o.

Like in Milwaukee, there were some extremely angry and somewhat violent contestants in Austin, but the last auditioner was quite passive. His name is Casey Abrams and he brought along an instrument which I thought was a keytar, but we learned it was a melodica. My research revealed that a melodica is also known as the "blow-organ" or "key-flute." You're welcome. Casey gets compared to Seth Rogen often, but the producer humorously compared him to a Gorg from Fraggle Rock. He does have more facial hair than any 19-year-old I've ever seen (and more than most adults I know). He jammed out with "I Don't Need No Doctor" for the judges, and even did some scat singing. The judges might have expected a joke performance from the melodica-blowing, wired hair contestant, but they gave Casey a passionate "YES" and then danced with him as he played his melodica.

At the end of the two-day search, 50 contestants are heading from Austin to Hollywood, including a girl who called her grandma with the good news, and grandma asked, "Are you the new American Idol?" Aww, grandma, if only you knew the arduous path that lies ahead!

Tomorrow, we head to American Idol's hometown--Los Angeles!

Hellcats S01E13

Episode 13 - Worried Baby Blues (01/02/2011)

To help raise money for sectionals, the Hellcats shoot a sexy calendar and throw a launch party with the band 3OH!3. Wanda talks Savannah into telling her mother, Layne, that Charlotte is pregnant, but the plan backfires when Layne accuses Savannah of being a bad influence. Marti breaks into Bill Marsh's in search of evidence that could clear Travis' name, but she's shocked to find that Alice also broke into the office for different reasons. Vanessa wonders if she still has feelings for Red.

Hellcats is an American cheerleading comedy-drama television series that airs on The CW in the United States. Based on the book Cheer: Inside the Secret World of College Cheerleaders by journalist Kate Torgovnick, the series focuses in the lives of college cheerleaders, mainly Marti Perkins (Aly Michalka), a pre-law college student who has to join the cheerleading team, the Hellcats, in order to get the athletic scholarship she needs. The main cast also includes Ashley Tisdale, Robbie Jones, Heather Hemmens, Matt Barr, Gail O'Grady and Sharon Leal.

In May 2010, Hellcats had been picked by The CW for the fall 2010–11 season. Initially with a 13-episode order, The CW aired the series after America's Next Top Model on Wednesday nights. The pilot episode aired on September 8, 2010, and became the first premiere to ever match or build on an America's Next Top Model lead-in since The CW began in 2006. The CW later gave a full season order for the series, with executives saying they were "thrilled that [it] paid off for us".

Hellcats follows Marti Perkins, a pre-law college student at Lancer University, who lost her scholarship and has no other choice but to join the college's cheer squad, the Hellcats, in order to obtain a new one. There she meets her new roommate and team captain Savannah Monroe, the injured flyer Alice Verdura, her new partner Lewis Flynn and the Hellcats coach Vanessa Lodge who hopes to win nationals, otherwise the cheer leading program will be cut. All the while, Marti also has to deal with her financially unstable and sometimes irresponsible mother, Wanda Perkins, whom she often has to bail out of difficult situations, and her best friend Dan Patch. Dan and Savannah begin dating and subsequently split after Marti revealed that she and Dan hooked up, but Savannah and Dan reconcile at Dan's brother's wedding.
