Episode 05 - Here is the Fire (16/03/2011)
Cooper and his team are called to a Virginia high school where a pipe bomb exploded killing and injuring numerous students. Cooper asks the Director to send in agent Beth Griffith, threat assessment analyst from the FBI, to the bomb site. Cooper believes that our bomber isn't finished when our team discovers a note at the scene that says "Here I Am." Our team suspects Principal Spruell who gathered the students into the cafeteria to make an announcement. Garcia steps in to help narrow areas in the Fredericksburg vicinity which authorities have sited past bomb occurrences. Remnants of the school pipe bomb are found to be engraved with "Here Is The Fire," and when put together with the contents of the note, lead us to a biblical passage where God asks Abraham to prove his devotion by killing his son. Mick and Gina find three crosses at a stream at one of the sites Garcia sends them too. They also come upon bomb remnants matching that from the high school. A local pastor confirms that he recently conducted the baptisms and identifies our unsub as William Meeks, a devoted father of three boys who recently suffered the loss of his wife and unborn forth son. Meek's ideology was that the world is bad place and he has to protect his sons by killing them and does so by sending them to school, without them knowing, with a bomb in their backpack. The bomb at the high school already killed one of his sons. Gina and Mick race to prevent the second bombing of Meek's youngest son, Paul, who is carrying a bomb in his backpack while on a school bus. They are able evacuate the bus right before the bomb goes off. Our team races against the clock to track down and figure out where Meek's third son, Shawn, may be. We end up at the hospital where it all began for Meeks and his wife. This is where she died and this is where Meeks wants his other son to die along with the rest of the injured victims from today's bomb. They find and arrest Meeks outside the hospital and Cooper runs in hoping to track down Shawn before the bomb goes off. Gina gets engaged. Beth accepts Cooper's invitation to join his team.
