Cougar Town S02E16

Episode 16 - Baby's a Rock 'N' Roller (20/04/2011)

lie is only fun for about seven minutes a day. You never know when those golden moments will be. In other Ellie news, she's tired of the gang always joking that she doesn't spend enough time with baby Stan. It's hard being a mom in your 40s. Jules thinks it's much tougher when you're in your 20s.

Laurie wants to get back out to the club scene. She needs a wingman. Goose is dead, so she turns to Andy. Ellie will allow this grand experiment to take place while also conning an overconfident Jules into caring for Stan solo. Of course, Jules calls Grayson for an assist because she realizes Ellie was right. Caring for a baby is much more difficult in your 40s.

Baby Stan escapes from the fort/prison Grayson built only to lock himself in a pantry filled with knives, wine and a push-button fire machine. Those are always handy to have around the house. Enter a victorious Ellie armed with a bag of goldfish crackers. Moments later, Stan steps out of the pantry of death to munch on some tasty snacks.

Ellie's made her point and Jules is thrilled that she's already paid her dues in the baby department. Of course, she may have to rethink things after Grayson casually mentions that he can't wait to have a kid of his own. Somebody get Big Carl!

Out at the clubs, Laurie is having a tough time blending in. Andy thinks her relationship with Smith has soured the appeal of one-night stands. This is heartbreaking news. Laurie isn't ready to give up her party girl past. She loves making the walk of shame. All the judgmental looks she gets from folks on the street invigorates her soul. The club scene isn't an option, but going home with a cute guy she meets at a coffee shop will work.

Bobby has an opportunity to practice on an amazing golf course if he gets there before six each morning. He's never been able to wake up early enough to take advantage of the deal even after dog Travis intervenes as a slobbering canine alarm. Apparently, the pooch can be put on snooze by being fed leftover burgers.

Travis offers to wake his dad, but Bobby feels this is something he needs to do for himself. We're still not sure why. Anyway, he rigs a mirror to shine light onto him come sunrise. It doesn't work, but the stunt Travis pulls by luring his dad out to the top deck of his boat does. Bobby wanted to do this thing on his own, but your family is always there to give you a hand whether you ask for it or not. At least, that's what Bobby's always told his boy. Nice.
